AguMagu — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 28 June 2026

AguMagu is a free public-service app that helps people in the Maldives check and compare everyday market prices. It is operated by the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles and how. We designed AguMagu to work without accounts and without collecting personal information wherever possible.

Information we handle

What we do not collect

How we use information

Sharing

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising. We may share data with service providers that host or operate our infrastructure on our behalf, and where required by law or to protect the service. Aggregated, non-identifying price information may be published as part of the Ministry's public price-monitoring work.

Data retention

Watchlist and preference data tied to your anonymous identifier is kept while you continue to use the app. Feedback and price reports are kept as long as needed to act on them and for record-keeping. You can clear your watchlist at any time in the app, and uninstalling the app removes the on-device data.

Your choices

Children

AguMagu is a general-audience app and does not require any personal information to use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
